This afternoon I headed to Frieze, one of the art world’s hottest events, at Regent’s Park.
After being introduced to his work via Moco Amsterdam back in December 2019, I’ve kept an eye out for mentions of Daniel Arsham, and so when I heard he’d be at Frieze this year, I couldn’t miss it.

Titled ‘Unearthed Bronze Eroded Melpomene’, the work is based on the classical bust of the Roman muse (found in the collection of the Louvre), and emerges from the ground with crystallized erosions as though it has been excavated thousands of years in the future.
The crystallized erosions are a common feature in Arsham’s work, including his Pokemon collaboration, which also saw a collection of tees released by Uniqlo UT.
